Have you been wanting to get into astrophotography but think it’s just too expensive to take the plunge? You need a CCD imager, and a rock solid equatorial mount with tracking right? Not so fast.
You can begin to dabble in astrophotography with this little gem here. It’s a webcam adapter. It’s compatible with a few models (namely Philips SPC890NC, Philips SPC900NC, and Toucam PCVC840K) but it well may work with others. The thread on the top to connect to the camera is M12*0.5 (male).
If you want to really get into astrophotography you will probably want to upgrade later, but this will let you get your feet in and see how it goes without having to shell out hundreds or thousands of dollars.
- It is threaded to accept a filter or a reducer or a barlow lens
- As you see in the last photo it is made out of solid black aluminum, nice and sturdy
